What is Kinesiology?

The practice of kinesiology (‘the study of movement’) stems from both chiropractic and the theory of ancient Chinese acupuncture. It uses muscle monitoring as a form of biofeedback to assess the imbalances in the body. These imbalances can cause emotional or physical problems. This modality's aim is to relieve these imbalances from the root cause. It uses acupressure, massage, muscle releases, trigger and body points, and homeopathic remedies. It benefits both physical and emotional wellbeing. To ease a wide range of ailments from back pain to fears and phobias, kinesiology fixes limiting belief systems held within the body.

How does it work?

This modality does not simply massage a hurting person. A practitioner goes deeper to figure out if there are underlying emotional causes of the physical issues. To do this, they do muscle testing. By gently probing your muscles, they can pinpoint where the blockages are. They then use tools and techniques to stimulate the body's natural ability to heal itself. After all, practitioners of kinesiology believe that the body contains everything it needs to align all its energies. So then, all it needs is a push in the right direction.

What can you expect from a session?

Going into a session, you need to have a goal. Which issue or ailment do you need to resolve or heal? Aside from this, the practitioner will thoroughly explore your medical history, as well as your lifestyle. Once they have the basics down, the practitioner will then do muscle testing to pinpoint the problem. At this point, the practitioner will ask you to lie on your back on a massage table, fully clothed. They will then begin performing some techniques to resolve your issues. These may involve acupressure, guiding you through breathing techniques, and exploring nuero-vascular and neuro-lymphatic reflex points. After a session, your practitioner will discuss with you whether or not the session helped you. They will also suggest some techniques you can do yourself at home to continue the therapy until your next session.
