Similarly, a life coach can give the same benefits to people wanting to reach specific professional goals or personal goals. They can also help a person move through a life transition. A life coach offers accountability, objectivity, and positive structured support. This support encourages effective and focused action-taking. It also builds self esteem and creates positive change.

Many life coaches specialise in specific areas of personal development. They can focus on personal empowerment, relationships, business, parenting, weight loss, and many more. Each coach will offer a unique skill set, based on training, and their own life experiences. However, underneath all the specialties, life coaches have one goal. And that is to help you make the most out of your talents and skills so that you can live a fulfilling life. 

What can you expect from a session?

Coaching sessions usually last about an hour. In the first one, the coach will ask you about whether you're happy. They will talk to you about your goals, and what changes you'd like to make in your life. Coaches are focused on your future. So they will be asking such questions as, "Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?" "Which friends do you still see in your future life?" Don't feel pressured if you don't know the answers to the questions yet. That's what the sessions are for--to help you explore all aspects of your life. This is why a life coaching session will have lots of talk, and lots of looking into yourself. It's important to see your life coach as your partner in your journey to improving your life. They'll be your guide as you explore your feelings and challenges. Sometimes, they may give you "homework" after your session to further explore your thoughts. The bottom line: you make the decisions about your life changes. Your coach will just be there to support you and give you feedback. Everything that is talked about during a life coaching session is confidential.
